Volunteers

AUGUST 2026

Hello Jensen Ranch Families,

We look forward to having volunteers on our campus this school year.  There will be opportunities to volunteer in classrooms, in the office, on field trips, and for special school and PTA events and activities.  You will learn more about classroom opportunities at Back to School Night and through our Jensen Ranch PTA.

Classroom teachers and school staff will share volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

  • Volunteer opportunities vary by classroom. Teachers determine when volunteers are needed, how many are needed, and the times and activities that best support their classroom. Volunteer opportunities may be adjusted or ended as needed.
  • Volunteers are here to support school and PTA programs. Volunteering is not an opportunity to observe your child or other students during the school day.
  • All volunteers must complete the Megan's Law Form with Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement.
  • All volunteers must complete the 67-minute Keenan Safe Schools Mandated Reporter Training and provide the completion certificate to the school office. You can access this training by requesting it from the school office. This certificate may be used for clearance at other CVUSD schools.
  • You will receive an email once you are cleared to volunteer. Jensen Ranch staff, PTA Board members, and PTA Committee Chairs will have access to the cleared volunteer list.
  • Volunteer clearance is completed separately at each school site. Jensen Ranch clearance is valid through September 30 of the following school year.
  • All volunteers must check in and out of the office while on site for safety reasons.
  • Due to changes in volunteer requirements, there will be 3 volunteer clearance levels being phased in during the Fall of 2026.  Updates will be added to this page and shared through ParentSquare in the RoundUp newsletter.
  • Please contact the school office if you have any questions.

New Volunteer Requirements Level 1 (additional levels are being phased in this fall)

VOLUNTEER MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING & MEGAN’S LAW 2026–2027 REQUIREMENTS

All Jensen Ranch volunteers who may come into contact with students must complete the following requirements.

WHY THIS TRAINING IS REQUIRED

California Assembly Bill 1432 requires annual mandated reporter training. The course covers recognizing child abuse and neglect, mandated reporter responsibilities and reporting procedures, and the consequences for failing to make a required report. Keenan SafeSchools provides the annual regulatory and compliance training required for CVUSD volunteers.

TO CREATE YOUR TEMPORARY TRAINING ACCOUNT, CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

COMPLETE THE COURSES

Your SafeSchools page will show the training assigned for the current school year. Complete every module in its entirety and pass the quiz at the end to receive credit. The course running time is approximately 67 minutes. Closed captions are available by hovering over the lower-right corner of the training slide and selecting the CC icon.

SAVE AND EMAIL YOUR CERTIFICATE

After completing the training, save your Certificate of Completion (select “Print,” then “Save as PDF”). You may bring in a copy of the Certificate of Completion to the Jensen Ranch office, or you may email a copy to: Rebecca Long: rlong@cv.k12.ca.us

MEGAN’S LAW REQUIREMENT

Complete and print the Megan’s Law form and Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement, then submit them to the school office. You may attach a printed copy of your Keenan certificate. If you’ve already submitted your Megan’s Law form for the 26-27 school year at registration, you do not need to submit a new one to the office.

Megan's Law Form with Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement

Mrs. Long and/or your child’s teacher will notify you once you are cleared to begin volunteering at Jensen Ranch this school year.

UPDATES WILL BE COMING IN SEPTEMBER REGARDING LEVEL 2 AND 3 CLEARANCE FOR VOLUNTEERS.
